Bandai Namco revealed the upcoming installment of the popular fighting game series Tekken 8 during Sony’s showcase State of Play.
The reveal trailer flaunted strikingly realistic graphics that weren’t a pre-rendered movie but taken from the story mode that is still a work in progress, as Katsuhiro Harada said.
“In other words, all the character models, backgrounds, and effects are the same ones that are used in-game,” Harada shared, adding that the waves and tornado effects in the background will be part of the stages during fights.
The game is built on the latest unreal engine, which delivers high-end graphics. So expect the official game to be stunning, as in the trailer.
The video also confirms that the new game’s story will follow Tekken 7, where the Mishima feud is coming to a close as the poster-boys Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima are finally getting to the heart of the battle.
Tekken 8 is sure to arrive on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PIC via Steam. So stay tuned for the official release date!
