‘Smart Baguio in My Pocket’ program digitalizes approach vs COVID-19

Baguio City has launched a new web domain to share its COVID-19 data collection tool with other local government units (LGUs) in the city.

In an effort to digitalize the city under the “Smart Baguio in My Pocket” program, Baguio City has launched a new web domain to share its COVID-19 data collection tool with other local government units (LGUs) in the city.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong announced that the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) approved the new domain that LGUs can use to set up their information system on data collection, real-time monitoring, and management of COVID-19 cases.

“This will lead to better decision-making crucial to containing the spread of the virus,” said Magalong.

Through the city’s contact tracing system which uses a multi-pronged approach (detection, isolation, testing, and tracing), it will facilitate LGUs’ way of mitigating COVID-19.

So far, Baguio City has shared the technology to its neighboring provinces in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
