The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced that the LRT 2 has finally resumed to normal operating hours since May 1.

Commuters can now take normal train trips.  The first commercial trip clocks at 5:00am. The last commercial trip at the Santolan station at 8:30pm, and finally Recto Station at 9:00pm.

Last April, LRTA had to cut LRT 2’s operating hours short to 12 hours from 6:00am to 6:00pm. This is because hundreds out of thousand of staffs being COVID-19 positive.

But despite LRT 2 going to pre-pandemic operating hour, LRTA reminds commuters that social distancing protocols are still in place. Limited seating capacities still follows to curb the coronavirus spread.

Of course, the Free Ride for Health Workers and Medical Frontliners and Free Ride for Authorized Persons will remain on service for a hassle-free commute.

On a relative note, there will be a bus rapid transit (BRT) system on Skyway Stage 3 in the future, bringing more option for commuters and providing less traffic in the long run.
