JesCom now accepting Crypto Donations via PDAX

In embracing digitalization, the Jesuit Communications Foundation (JesCom), the media arm of the Philippine Province of the Society of Jesus, is now accepting cryptocurrency donations through PDAX.

JesCom partnered with the homegrown digital asset exchange to empower non-profit organizations in receiving donations in various cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Smooth Love Potion (SLP), and Dogecoin (DOGE), among others. This is done through a newly developed website dedicated to its Donation service hosted by PDAX.

“During the pandemic, we discovered two things: millions of Filipinos are willing to help out where they can, even during an economic crisis, and crypto is revolutionizing how people exchange goods and services. We’re glad that PDAX has found a way to address these two trends with PDAX Donate,” shared Jesuit Communications Foundation Executive Director Fr. Nono Alfonso.

Presently, foreign donors face limitations when sending funds to Philippine-based groups due to the lack of financial services allowing direct fund transfer. These also often come with expensive fees and take a few days to process.

Through PDAX Donate, non-profit organizations, such as JesCom, can now access the global donation channel that allows them to tap into the growing crypto community-including the estimated 7 million-strong Filipinos. In addition, donors can send directly from their crypto wallets in real-time and at a lower cost, made possible by using blockchain technology, which allows for faster and cheaper cross-border payments.

The donated funds are credited directly to the organization’s PDAX wallet and can be converted to Philippine Peso to reduce exposure to price volatility.

Using the service, JesCom can enjoy no minimum or maintaining balance for their PDAX accounts, which they can withdraw from at any time. Crypto donations will always be secure in their wallets, thanks to the various security measures employed by PDAX.

“Now with PDAX Donate, Filipinos can also use their crypto to donate to the NGOs and charities of their choice with just a click of a button. Not only does this promote financial freedom, but also bayanihan among Filipinos,” said Nichel Gaba, Founder and CEO of PDAX.
