Google announced its plans to put its Calendar Reminder and Assistant features in a single place via Google Tasks.
According to Android Authority, this upcoming update will allow users to convert all reminders into to-do lists within the Task app. So when they create tasks in their Google Calendar, they will be transferred to Tasks.
Because of this, Gmail will also get its new functions to integrate the new update better. These include the “Add to Tasks” button in the email app, being ability to create tasks directly in Google Chat, and functions to sort tasks into lists.
In the coming months, users will eventually see this new update with a prompt when they create or view reminders in Google Assistant or Calendar, so users have the time to adjust.
For now, Google hasn’t shared specific details as to when.
