Ayala-led Globe Telecom welcomes the National Telecommunications Commission’s instructions to block or deactivate URLs in text messages as authorities find more ways to combat spam and text fraud.
“Globe has long been blocking spam and scam text messages we detect, including those containing malicious URLs or links,” the firm said in a press release.
“This is part of our ongoing effort to filter out dangerous SMS to protect our customers. We will coordinate closely with the NTC to come up with new solutions to further protect customers against online fraud,” it added.
The company reiterated its call to the public to be vigilant and to continue reporting scam and spam messages through its ‘Stop Spam’ portal at https://www.globe.com.ph/stop-spam.html.
