Globe At Home revealed its “Swap and Save” campaign, encouraging Filipinos to dispose of electronic waste (e-waste) properly.
Globe will reward customers who swap their existing devices for a new advanced WiFi unit. Customers can get a PHP500 discount for Globe MyFi LTE-Advanced and Home Prepaid WiFi LTE-Advanced devices when switching their current prepaid Globe MyFi WiFi stick or Home Prepaid WiFi.
They can just drop them off at any of the 48 participating Globe Stores on or before August 21. Globe Stores team will assist customers in completing the process
Globe will deliver the collected e-waste monthly to its DENR-accredited recycling partners, TES-AMM Philippines and Maritrans Recycler, Inc.
Electronic items under the e-waste category are non-working or dead modems, mobile phones, chargers, laptops, desktops, and other home appliances.
There’s a proper disposal of e-waste due to its toxic and hazardous materials contaminating the soil and groundwater, resulting in environmental and human health risks.
This initiative aligns with Globe’s E-Waste Zero program launched in 2014. Under the program, Globe have collected and processed over 1.4 million kilograms of e-waste so far. The proceeds from the program will fund the communication needs of public school teachers and students amid the new normal.
Participate in “Swap and Save” campaign by dropping off your e-waste at over 120 locations, including Globe stores, malls, local government units, and partner organizations. Customers can also avail themselves of the free door-to-door pickup of e-wastes weighing 10kg or more.
“Globe takes extra care of its customers and the environment,” said Darius Delgado, Globe Vice-President and Head of Broadband Business.
