Just like several other organizations in the wake of the pandemic, the EMS Group of Companies pushes to be innovative in its business to keep up with the ever-changing world of business. Being among the private Filipino-owned groups in the country’s electronics manufacturing industry, transformations are inevitable to stay competitive and true to its value of growing with its pool of Filipino talents.

Through the partnership of Fujitsu and its adaptability outlook in its business, EMS decided to retrain their workers to learn new skills to go about any future hurdles in a form of a learning workshop so as to prepare its workforce in embarking on a big change for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (FIRe) or the IR 4.0.

“If we did not change and innovate, our company would have been shut down. So, we constantly innovate while still sticking to our core competency, which is the semiconductor and electronics assembly,” said EMS Group Chairman and CEO Ferdinand “Perry” Ferrer, citing teachings of his father, the late Francis Ferrer, former president of the Ayala-led Integrated Micro-electronics, Inc.

As automation and digitalization become a significant part of today’s workplaces, EMS pursues to empower more its workforce with modern resource planning (ERP) system as part of the company’s digital transformation strategy, activating FIRe as part of modernizing strategy.

The FIRe basically refers to the overall shift toward digital platforms. Modern digital technologies and applications will evolve nearly every industry and sector, even the likes of the semiconductor and electronics industry.

“Now, more than ever, businesses have all the available systems and solutions, which they can integrate into their systems using the Fujitsu Cloud. Our team is more than excited about this project with the EMS Group and, we look forward to supporting its vision for digital transformation through this partnership,” said Raul “Cricket” Santiago, Fujitsu Philippines CEO and President.
