Facebook and the Department of Health (DOH) teamed up to feature the Eligibility QP and COVID-19 Profile Frames to the social media platform.
“As access to COVID-19 vaccines expands, we’re partnering with the DOH to provide tools on Facebook in the Philippines, so people can check if they are eligible to get the vaccine, and where they can get vaccinated,” explained Clare Amador, Philippine Head of Public Policy at Facebook.
An in-feed notification, Eligibility QP feature, will allow users to connect with the DOH information center right away. This means having validated information about COVID-19 vaccines, such as their eligibility, appointments, and sign-up slots in their respective local communities. Most of all, it allows users to make inquiries straight from the organization about the vaccines.
On the other hand, the COVID-19 profile frames aim to spread awareness and encouragement by allowing users to put up profile frames proudly. There are two different styles: “I got my COVID-19 vaccine” and “Let’s get vaccinated.”
“By leveraging Facebook’s platform, tools, and reach, we are doubling our efforts to ensure Filipinos get access to credible information that will facilitate informed decisions to get vaccinated with safe, effective, and free COVID-19 vaccines,” commented Dr. Beverly Ho, Director of DOH Health Promotion Bureau.
