Coco Martin, famously known as Cardo Dalisay in the “Ang Probinsyano” show series, announced his public endorsement of a new partylist, AP Partylist #AkoyPilipino, on February 25.
According to him, the new partylist serves to help Filipinos find jobs and livelihood, stating: “No matter what hardships we go through, we already have an ally.”
Martin introduced his new partylist group with first nominee Rep. Ronnie Ong in action in the background of the partylist’s video.
Ong, Martin’s long-time friend, is nicknamed by PeopleAsia as the “frontliner Congressman.” He is well known for his various out-of-the-box COVID-19 Bayanihan projects since the first lockdown, such as his #LibrengSakay program for health workers and the #LibrengGulay program for the community kitchens, #LibrengTablets, and E-skwela Hub e-learning centers for students and teachers.
Before the pandemic, Ong had also supported senior citizens looking for employment through his Tulong Pangkabuhayan program, deploying various non-disabled and willing-to-work seniors at airports, public universities, and government agencies. And while during the pandemic, he had also helped out-of-work transport workers such as UV Express or FX drivers by employing them as #LibrengSakay drivers, as well as some laid-off ABS-CBN employees who found alternative work as contact tracers.
Besides Coco Martin, the all-star cast of “Task Force Agila” in “Ang Probinsyano,” has also expressed their support for the new partylist on their social media pages. They shared its various advocacies.
“From the beginning, we have been with Cong. Ronnie, and we see that he worked. He really served. So now, the #164 AP Partylist with him is the one we support. So I hope you will support as well,” encouraged Coco Martin.
AP Partylist also collaborated with OPM artists Bassilyo, Sisa, and Smugglaz with their “Ako’y Pilipino,” an anthem that sings of the pride, perseverance, and hard work of Filipinos.
With his new partylist, Coco Martin calls on the audience to join him on his new journey: “Here we are on the journey that will advance all Filipinos. AP Partylist #AkoyPilipino, number 164 on the ballot!”
