Earth Day is here again. With the pandemic still dragging the country on, most Filipinos would still be pressed to quarantine themselves this year. But those who want to celebrate Earth Day at home can do so.
Here are three things you can do to celebrate Earth Day while at home:
Watch movies or documentaries
One of the simple things you can do as a supporter is to be consistently informed about the present issues. Watching related media would do a lot to inspire thinking and action to spread the word.
A notable documentary film about caring for the environment is “I Am Greta.” As the name suggests, it follows a young activist Greta Thunberg who stepped up to spread awareness about climate change and the growing environmental crisis as a whole. Check out what I got to say about the film here.
Follow organizations or community in social media
An effective way to bring about awareness is to spread it thick and wide, and what better way to do this than through social media? You can follow environmental entities or groups as quickly as being online.
Organizations or entities to follow on social media so you can be informed of the changes affecting our world can be found in this list.
And if you want to connect with a like-minded community and practice as you support, we also made a list for your convenience.
Utilize applications or software supporting the cause
If you’re more of a doer than an observer or a keyboard warrior, there are several apps to fiddle with on Earth Day.
Curious about environmental changes for the past decades? Look no further for the recent Timelapse feature in Google Earth. Read more about it here.
Wonder how to contribute more to the cause? Might as well plant a tree and invest in reforestation programs through GCash Forest. Check out how in this post to get started.
How about taking a step back and follow the basics? There’s a new app to make your recycling activities smoother called the TrashPanda app, available for Android users.
Have you tried one or more of these activities? Do you have unique ways to celebrate Earth Day at home? Let us know in the comments.
