YouTube video downloads

YouTube is now letting its Premium subscribers have a test on video downloads feature in the desktop browser version.

For a limited period, YouTube is currently testing a way for users to download videos via the web browser. Unfortunately, the feature is only open to select Premium users, but those interested in trying it can always check if they are qualified by going to YouTube’s experimental features page.

YouTube video downloads feature is supported on Chrome, Edge, and Opera browsers. Those who can use the feature will see a download button under the player. Clicking the download button will prompt downloading the video, which users can play offline from the Downloads section under the menu button.

According to The Verge, downloading YouTube videos only lets users watch them inside the browser but not outside of it. Bugs and errors may also be frequent in using the said feature as it is still on experimental stage.
