The Valenzuela City government has partnered with a local social media page and group curator to help micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) gain a broader market amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The city government has signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the administrators of Valenzuela Online Palengke and Valenzuela Online Tiangge to provide support for small local merchants shifting to online selling.

Mayor Rex Gatchalian said the agreement offers MSMEs assistance to help them reach a broader range of consumers residing outside Valenzuela.

The assistance consists of advertising, boosting, banner ad placement, and other online efforts for their Facebook pages, according to Gatchalian.

Valenzuela has nearly 19,000 local MSMEs, many of which are resorting to online selling via Facebook to continue earning while the physical operation of stores and public transportation are still restricted.
