Starting July 5, digital bank platform Tonik announced a fee of PHP25 for top-up or cash-in transactions via debit card, GCash, and 7/11 channels.

Tonik explained that said transactions cost them about 2.2 – 3.5% and that customers prefer high interest rates.

So far, Tonik offers free top-up on the following channels:

• Direct account top-ups via BPI and UnionBank
• PESONet ACH partners – including 14 major central banks
• Over-the-counter (OTC) through SM Bills Payment, Cebuana Lhuillier, M Lhuillier, and CLIQQ

Tonik also announced that they’re focusing on integrating with InstaPay and will expand to other transactional opportunities in the future.
