In its efforts to reinforce a safer digital environment among its users, TikTok hosted its online safety webinar in the Philippines on August 27, 2020, for the first time.
Entitled as “Creating a Safe Online Environment for Creative Expression,” the webinar discussed internet and social media safety topics relevant to users in the Philippines.
Participants in the webinar include celebrity Amy Perez, the Department of Education (DepEd), and UNICEF as resource speakers. The panel discussion was moderated by journalist and TV host, Kara Patria David-Cancio.
“Safety is a TikTok priority,” said Donny Eryastha, TikTok Head of Public Policy for the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
TikTok’s likewise had a Family Pairing feature that offers parents a set of controls to manage their child’s Digital Wellbeing. TikTok had also published the Community Guidelines in January 2020 and provides other sources, such as educational safety videos, to continue to provide a safer space for creative self-expression.
These are only a few internet safety initiatives by TikTok. Follow their social media networks for more news and updates or visit their official website. Enjoy a safe and fun online environment when you download TikTok on your iOS and Android devices today.
