Senator Christopher “Bong” Go cautioned the public not to be complacent amid the recent developments on COVID-19 vaccine trials happening across the globe.
Go advised Filipinos to remain vigilant even if the Duterte administration has started relaxing quarantine measures.
The neophyte senator added that the government must prioritize the poor, 4Ps beneficiaries, and vulnerable sectors once the vaccine becomes available.
Likewise, the World Health Organization (WHO) Western Pacific Regional Director Dr. Takeshi Kasai urged the governments across the globe to continue enhancing their COVID-19 efforts.
“Even if they can really manage, develop a safe and effective vaccine, the production capacity would not really meet the demand coming from the entire world,” said Kasai.
Earlier, Russia announced that it has developed a COVID-19 vaccine called Sputnik V and promised to provide the Philippines with it.
