Global information provider Reuters reported that South Korean tech companies Samsung Display and LG Display Co Ltd would halt the supply of displays to Huawei’s future premium roster of smartphones starting on September 15, 2020.

This decision is due to the added trade restrictions imposed by the United States, which would require a company to apply for approval under the new policy for suppliers to continue partnering with Huawei.

Samsung Display refused to make a statement about the issue, while LG Display divulged that the US move would not affect the company as it has limited panel shipments to Huawei.
