Twitter announced that a new feature is on the making, which seeks to regulate the sharing or retweeting of unread articles. The company said that the feature would be tested on the Android version “to help promote informed discussion.”

“When you retweet an article that you haven’t opened on Twitter, we may ask if you’d like to open it first,” explained Twitter. “We wanted to test a way to improve the health of a conversation as it gets started.”

But it clarified that users will “always have the option” to proceed with the retweet.

Twitter and social network platforms are presently dealing with overflowing numbers of misinformation, which are circulated by users who don’t review the details of the content or the comments they are sharing.
