The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) praised Nokia’s efforts as it turned over 40 Nokia phone units with SIM cards amounting to P399,000 to support the organization’s ongoing operations against COVID-19.

PRC Secretary-General Elizabeth Zavalla thanked HMD Global for reaching out to them.

The donated phones will be used in answering calls and inquiries regarding PRC’s COVID operations, including ‘swabusting’ schedules, results follow-up, among others.

These donations will also be used to decongest PRC’s established hotline 1158, a daily call center operated by volunteers who are taking calls related to COVID-19.

The PRC has been continuously sustaining its COVID-19 response through its testing centers, frontliner support operations, assistance to locally stranded individuals (LSI), and blood donation drives across the country.
