On Thursday, the company’s official Twitter account, dubbed “PLDT Cares,” was hacked by a group that claimed to be Anonymous Philippines. The account was recovered a few hours after on the same day.
The hacker group posted a tweet calling for fast internet service amid the COVID-19 crisis.
“As the pandemic arises, Filipinos need fast internet to communicate with their loved ones. Do your job. The corrupt fear us, the honest support us, the heroic join us. We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us,” it tweeted.
The tweets were followed by a threat that they would also infiltrate the official Twitter account of Globe Telecom.
