With the advancement in the curriculum of the education sector and the transition to K-12, there are still some schools that may have been a bit left behind.
To help support some of these schools, a partnership between Synergeia, PLDT, Smart, and the Department of Education launched today the Seal of Good Education Governance.
The first batch of seal recipients will be receiving tech packages from PLDT and Smart Communications to boost the capabilities of the selected LGUs in supporting the education sector in their community.
Every Local Government Units (LGUs) are encouraged to join the inaugural search for cities and municipalities that have exerted outstanding efforts to deliver basic education to their constituents.
We are happy to support Synergeia’s effort to encourage more LGUs to efficiently and effectively deliver basic education to Filipino children. As the proverbs goes, “It takes a village to raise a child,” We hope that by working hand-in-hand with foundations and LGUs, we can accelerate the enhancement of learning among Filipino youth like never before.
The technological tools and digital educational content that we are including in the packages do not just serve as a reward to exemplary LGUs. We also hope that these would inspire LGUs to explore the many ways technology can be used for national economic development.

The Special Education fund that will be awarded will be used in activities supporting and promoting learning.

Since 2002, Synergeia has been working closely with different LGUs across the country to help improve the basic education for children. They intend to award the Seal of Good Education Governance to deserving LGUs every year.
As mentioned above, PLDT and Smart will provide tech packages that will improve and facilitate the learning environment in the community. The package will depend on each LGUs needs. Installation and maintenance of WiFi hotspots, provision of InfoCast, are just among the inclusions in the package that the selected LGUs will receive.
School-in-a-bag is an additional incentives for LGUs in far flung areas. The school-in-a-bag is a remote school package which contains solar panel, tablets, laptops, and monitors. This is to facilitate the use of technology in learning and also to help teachers deliver more especially for those curriculum-based education content.
Personal development trainings for LGUs will also be included in the incentive package.
