Just right in Valentines Day, Los Angeles-born young singer icon Billie Eilish along with her creative writer, collaborator, and brother all-in-one Finneas O’Connell popped a new theme tune for James Bond, titled “No Time To Die”, which features her eerie, grungy melancholic tune of ballad that speaks of her signature music all the while maintaining the epic classical James Bond feel. With her recent several awards sweeping off everyone’s feet at the Grammys, she also checked off the bucket-list of being the youngest artist to record a Bond track.
In the Facebook page it posted that Eilish along with O’Connell would perform their new track in the world premier at next Tuesday’s Brit Awards in London. Movie score maestro Hans Zimmer and former Smiths legend Johnny Marr will also be there as well.
It’s currently the 25th installment of the British spy saga, which will be out by April. James Bond follows the all too familiar agent drawn out of retirement in Jamaica by his old friend and CIA agent Felix Leiter. For this movie, the new villain will be played by Rami Malek, one who had acted as Freddie Mercury in “Bohemian Rhapsody”and won him a best actor Oscar for his timeless depiction of the Queen frontman. Craig, who is now 51 years old, is expected to bow out for being agent 007 for consecutive 8 years due to undergo a minor ankle surgery after an injury on set.
James Bond is a timeless movie that never gets old, and sets nostalgia after nostalgia of that classic action scenes of car chases, gun fires, spy gadgets, and of course, some femme fatales. And with Billie Eilish track, it will garner interest from boys and girls, especially from Generation Z.
