Couples Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo’s new business is now opened- which involved cats, of course. Smile like a Chesire’s cat for a new cat cafe opened in Quezon City, Litterbucks! Cuz, you know… Litter for cats and Bucks in Starbucks …?
But fur-real though, this new cafe can be found on the streets of Maginhawa where you can be feline a good time along with your favorite drinks paired with Jennylyn’s Chunky Dough signature cookies. The cat lounge has that cozy atmosphere and timeless ambiance, one cat-lovers wished to have as their own personal break room, and also big enough to swing a cat!- metaphorically speaking.
“Excited kami kasi pinaghirapan namin ito for two months eh, binuo namin itong isang buong shop na kami lang talaga, kasi ang meron lang kami ‘yung mga carpenters na gagawa,” Jennylyn shared with GMA.
Dennis pointed out that cats exude a certain calming effect on people. “Yung pusa talaga nakakaalis siya ng stress tsaka anxiety pagka kasama mo siya.”
For every food or drink place, cozy cafes also involve rules and guidelines for the sake of both feline friends and customers. For basic rules, no shoes inside are allowed and customers should not force cats to interact with them.
“Yun po ‘yung ginagawa namin. So bago pumasok kailangan naka-socks, hugas talaga ng kamay. After hugas may alcohol pa po kami,” Jennylyn said.
The cat lounge is nested at 128 Animat Bldg. Maginhawa St, Diliman, Quezon City. To enjoy these simple pleasures, you need to issue reservations from 1pm to 8pm, with a 2-hour limit for visits. The cafe is open from 10 am to 10pm. Don’t be surprised by the place to be brimming with customers like raining cats and dogs.
And speaking of surprise, did you know 7 of Jennylyn and Dennis’ own cats are also part of Litterbucks’ clowder? Cat got your tongue, yet?
