Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao joined in the gaming trend as he launched his new esports organization, Team Pacquiao GG.
Partnered with global esports company Veloce, Team Pacquiao GG will be the new gaming and content creation brand of Manny Pacquaio, aimed to be the national team of the Philippines. It’s core focus will be “community, competition, and content that desires to provide an opportunity to the people within gaming and entertainment.”
For now, the team is composed of five members: Shin Boo, Superkimbie, Ghost Wrecker, Een Mercado, and Gloco. The team will focus on popular gaming titles, including Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Call of Duty, Valorant, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Axie Infinity, and Halo Infinite.
“Most Filipinos identify gaming as a hobby and a possible addiction for younger people that must be supervised, but not anymore. Esports is not just an online phenomenon, but also a legitimate growing sports industry, with a lot of job and business opportunities,” said Pacquiao.
