The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) together launched the Laging Handa Unified Website in its beta version. The new site harmonizes all information from different sources and gives the general public better access to COVID-19 updates.
With the support of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), the website was made by Dashboard Philippines. The agency built the Content Management System (CMS) and administrative interface of the site. Meanwhile, the DICT ensures its privacy and security against internal and external threats.
The Laging Handa Unified Website features the 4Ks: Kalusugan, Kabuhayan, Kaayusan, and Kinabukasan, explaining the government’s whole-of-nation approach in beating the pandemic and serving as a guide to direct the public to the information they need.
The website contains frequently asked questions (FAQs) regarding COVID-19. It also features government resolutions, issuances, memorandum, and guidelines. What’s more, it also gathers news, presidential briefings, and Laging Handa briefings in one channel.
PIA Director-General Ramon L. Cualoping III stressed the need for having a unified and streamlined communication platform such as Laging Handa to “fight fake news and disinformation that only foster panic in people.”
