Instagram said it would be testing two new feed options, the Chronological and the Favorites settings, after high user demand.
So we have the standard Instagram’s “Home” feed, where it shows users posts based on what they’re interested in. Now the new “Favorites” feed will be filled with content from a subset of accounts a user chooses. Additionally, Instagram will also have the “Following” feed option, which showcases a chronological stream of posts from accounts users’ follows.
Testing Feed Changes 👀
We’re starting to test the ability to switch between three different views on your home screen (two of which would give you the option to see posts in chronological order):
We hope to launch these soon. More to come. ✌🏼 pic.twitter.com/9zvB85aPSp

This was officially mentioned during a Senate subcommittee hearing in December, promising the features would return and are already in the works.
Interestingly, these new feed options are becoming available to some users, but Instagram is yet to announce when they’ll become official worldwide.
