Mercedes me’s Stolen Vehicle Help aims to help users find and recover stolen vehicles, built on previous collaboration between IBM and Daimler, Mercedes’ parent company, to develop connected car services.
It addresses the increase of car thefts since 2020, as per the National Insurance Crime Bureau report. Through digital, connected car services, it provides a solution that can minimize the risk and enhances the chances to recover lost or stolen vehicles.
“Urban Guard – Stolen Vehicle Help” service collects relevant information about the vehicle and its owner to help law enforcement identify and recover the vehicle.
“Developing connected car services that help safeguard the owner’s investment is a meaningful way for Mercedes to deepen its relationship with its customers, as well as differentiate itself,” said Juergen Braun, Vice President, and Industry Leader Industrial, Automotive IBM DACH.
This service was previously launched only to European customers last November. Now
the service is available to customers in select countries in North America and the Asia Pacific. Mercedes me app is available to download on Google Play or App Store.
