Multinational ride-hailing company Grab launched its innovation, GrabBayanihan Car – a driving service dedicated to carpooling healthcare workers under Grab’s partner hospitals and clinics.
Each GrabBayanihan Car will carry one healthcare worker to and from registered hospitals and medical facilities at a time.
The cars itself used for the service have a non-permeable acetate barrier to separate the driver from the passenger. Similarly, vehicles under the service will not receive bookings made from other GrabCar services and must maintain the standard hygiene.
The GrabBayanihan Car service will be available every day from 5:00 AM until 10:00 PM in line with the curfew hours issued by the government.
About 400 volunteer driver-partners will operate the GrabBayanihan Car, which has undergone hygiene and infection prevention training. They will also be given free face masks, disinfectants, monthly allowances, insurances, and other benefits, aside from an 8-hour rendered service salary with a reduced commission.
Interested health workers may approach their hospital administrators to request the GrabBayanihan Car service for their entire hospital through filling up the form. A Grab representative will be in touch with the hospital to help them set up the service.
