Extreme measures taken with the Duterte administration against freedom of expression are taking away from Filipinos their only source of control, according to Lyceum of the Philippines University law professor Atty. Carlo Cruz.
“What do we the citizens have? All we have is our voices,” Cruz asked in a webinar titled “Mass Media and the Law” hosted by the Philippine Bar Association (PBA).
Cruz expressed his concerns on how the government handles freedom of the press and freedom of expression in the country, citing the unfortunate circumstances of ABS-CBN and Rappler Editor-in-Chief Maria Ressa.
