Broadcast giant’s regional arm, GMA Regional TV, aims to expand its viewership by getting into TikTok.

With more and more Gen Zs going online, GMA’s expansion to TikTok would allow them to have more reach and strengthen its position on-air, on-ground, and online.

“GMA Regional TV continues to find ways to bring local news and information to more Kapuso, and these include tapping popular social media platforms such as TikTok, which is very popular to the young generation,” said GMA Regional TV and Synergy First Vice President and Head Oliver Victor Amoroso.

On December 17 alone, GMA RTV gathered nearly 47 million views through its newscasts and morning shows’ TikTok accounts.

GMA RTV would publish in TikTok award-winning shows, and its flagship local newscasts: GMA Regional TV Balitang Amianan, GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak, GMA Regional TV Balitang Bicolandia, GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas, and GMA Regional TV One Mindanao; as well as the national newscast Regional TV News. There will be morning shows, such as Mornings with GMA Regional TV, GMA Regional TV Live!, GMA Regional TV Early Edition, and At Home with GMA Regional TV.

“We look forward to giving our younger audience the tools and means to keep themselves informed about the local news and updates that matter to them wherever they are in the Philippines,” added Amoroso.
