Globe’s target is to install at least 800 cell sites in the last three months of 2020 to conclude this year’s network expansion a success.
Globe is set to build at least 319 cell sites in Metro Manila and Rizal, and at least 100 cell sites in North Luzon, specifically in Bulacan, Pampanga, and Pangasinan that tops the 15 provinces with the most builds. Globe is targeting Cavite for network expansion in South Luzon, which includes Albay, Batangas, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Quezon, Laguna, Marinduque, Masbate, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, and Romblon. Around 64 towers and small cell sites are assigned in the region.
In Visayas, Globe is set to install 147 sites in Cebu. A total of 190 will also be built on provinces Aklan, Antique, Bohol, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, Leyte, Negros Occidental, Siquijor, Samar, and Negros Oriental. In Mindanao, Globe will be putting up 166 cell sites with Davao Del Sur getting the most number among the 23 provinces and one city covered by the expansion.
This is under the 3-pronged strategy aimed to improve connectivity in the nation through network upgrades and expansion. The big three includes aggressive cell site rollout, 4G/LTE upgrade in all its sites, and fiberization of Filipino homes nationwide.
