FWD Life Insurance Corporation (FWD Insurance) launched three corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed to empower those in need, ranging from healthcare frontliners to cancer patients.

“We are living in extraordinary times, and at FWD, we’d like to step up for our brothers and sisters in need,” said Li Hao Zhuang, FWD Insurance President and Chief Executive Officer.

FWD Insurance’s three corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives are the following:

  • Protecting healthcare frontline workers of St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMFC) – A charity drive in aiding healthcare frontliners of SLMFC, which raised to a total of PHP 1,000,000 to procure personal protective equipment (PPEs).
  • Caring for farmers and displaced informal workers – A fundraiser drive for farmers and informal workers affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) to cushion the economic burden caused by the COVID-19 crisis, in which the generated funds were used to purchase produce from farmers in Cordillera and provided to families of displaced informal workers in Metro Manila as relief packs.
  • Supporting cancer awareness programs of the Philippine Cancer Society (PCS) – A charity drive aimed to benefit the Philippine Cancer Society (PCS) and other cancer research and awareness programs. The program raised PHP 1,214,000 total from all eligible protection products sold during the program period.

“The spirit of Bayanihan is alive amidst the evolving COVID-19 situation, and we are inspired to care and be of service by supporting our partner organizations and reaching out to communities in need,” Li Hao added.
