Facebook announced that it will be introducing a new feature that allows users to control what shows in their newsfeed.
The company said it is currently testing controls that can “adjust people’s ranking preferences” and customize the feed. For instance, users would be able to manage the number of posts from their friends and family or decrease posts from groups and pages they follow. This new feature also helps existing controls “easier to access” as well.
Facebook said it will soon start testing in countries worldwide to a select few users and then will gradually expand in the coming weeks.
“This is part of our ongoing work to give people more control over the newsfeed, so they see more of what they want and less of what they don’t,” said Facebook.
