Evangelion joins PUBG Mobile!

PUBG Mobile gamers and 90’s anime fans alike can now enjoy an epic cross-over with the acclaimed anime series Evangelion, where players are pitted against its fearsome Angel!

As part of the new Version 2.0 Update, PUBG Mobile will have the new ‘Core Circle’ game mode in Erangel and Livik, showcasing a face-off between Evangelion’s 6th Angel and EVA-01. This special event will run starting May 19th to June 19th in Erangel.

Players will start off in a special shrunken Blue Zone in each match and witness the 6th Angel’s appearance on Spawn Island firing a powerful laser. Then they can follow the action by finding EVA-01’s spawn point on the mini-map and observing Angel’s deadly path forward.

The new Core Circle mode will have more supply crates deployed throughout the battlefield, such as those containing more valuable resources below ground level. In addition, players can throw Blue Zone grenades to create a mini Blue Zone, which depletes Health. Finally, there will be a limited-time Respawn period near the beginning of the match where fallen teammates can return to the fold and still retain their weapons.

Starting from May 14th to June 19th, players can score a handful of new exclusive Evangelion collaboration items. These include iconic character plugsuits and themed armor and parachutes to backpacks. Additionally, a special buddy will land as the players’ partner in the game.

“Evangelion is one of the most famous and recognizable anime series of all time, so we couldn’t be more thrilled to bring its unique action, and futuristic world to PUBG MOBILE. The ‘Core Circle’ game mode continues our commitment to give players unforgettable experiences based on universally acclaimed and culturally significant partners, enriching the PUBG MOBILE experience for current and new players,” said Vincent Wang, Head of the PUBG MOBILE Publishing at Tencent Games.

To add more to the excitement, there will be an extra exclusive-themed EVA Discovery event in-game starting today until June 19th. This is where players can play matches in Classic Mode to gain Exploration Progress, with an extra progress bonus available from Core Circle gameplay after May 19th. Progress can be traded for limited-time Evangelion-themed rewards. In addition, a special discount will be applied when upgrading some collaboration items into permanent ones.
