Director of “Hostel”, “Death Wish” and “The House with a Clock in Its Walls” Eli Roth was linked with a video game film adaptation based on a tweet that was removed as soon as it was posted. Either that was on accident or a slip-up, it is now expected that Roth would take the helm of a “Borderlands” movie project introduced since 2015.
“I’m very excited to welcome Eli Roth as Director of the Borderlands movie in development with Lionsgate and Arad Productions,” Randy Pitchford once tweeted on Wednesday. “Please welcome [him] to the team and be sure to catch the [Gearbox] Main Theater Show at PAX East on 2/27 to learn more.”
Although he is more well-known for the graphic violence and torture depictions he portrayed as director of “Hostel” films, he also had specialty for horror-comedy, such as his works of “Cabin Fever”, and other films aforementioned.
Although not as violent as “Borderlands” which borders more on its humor, colorful characters and a pop-out comic-book style, only one could guess how the film would flow.
