President Duterte announced that the government launched a P700-million project that will provide Internet connection for 7,000 public schools.
“The target completion of the project, which costs P700 million will be in 10 months,” said Duterte.
The president added that DepEd Commons, an online educational portal, is now operational to facilitate distance or flexible learning methods amid the COVID-19 crisis.
Duterte also said that a new government committee will be created to ensure the availability of good quality learning resources that are apt for today’s needs.
Meanwhile, the Department of Education (DepEd) has also developed a Basic Education-Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP) as a guide on educational continuity amid the new normal, teaching health and safety measures for teachers and students.
