The Department of Education (DepEd) has increased the capacity of its online learning platform, DepEd Commons, in preparation for the resumption of classes through distance learning in August.

“We have about 8.4 million unique users in DepEd Commons at this time. We would want to reach out all of the 17 million, or even more than the 17 million learners that we have, including the teachers,” explained DepEd Undersecretary for Administration Alain Pascua.

While multiple users have been simultaneously logging in the platform during the early months of the pandemic, Pascua said DepEd Commons had been durable so far.

DepEd Commons is accessible on both PC and mobile platforms, with mobile subscribers of Globe, TM, Smart, Sun, and TNT can access the platform free of data charges.

The DepEd encourages its users to give feedback about the platform through the link
