The Bureau on Internal Revenue (BIR) announced to extend the deadline for business registration of “online sellers” up to September 1, as the original August 31 is the date for National Heroes’ Day holiday.

“Under the law, if a due date falls on a Saturday o kaya Sunday o kaya holiday, the due date will be moved to the next working day,” explained BIR Assistant Commissioner Elenita Quimosing.

From the issuance of Revenue Memorandum Circular (RMC) No. 75-2020, there will be “no penalty imposition” up to August 31, 2020

Online business registration covers partner sellers or merchants, as well as other stakeholders such as payment gateways, delivery channels, internet service providers, and other facilitators.
