To support the innovative new Intel® Optane™ memory technology, ASUS launched a new UEFI BIOS updates in compatible ASUS 200-Series motherboards on Wednesday, March 29.
Bundled in an M.2 module format, Intel Optane memory is a new category of non-volatile memory that creates SSD-like function from a large hard disk drive (HDD), meliorating its performance and a speedy computing experience.
This new update allow installation of the Intel Optane memory application that can activate the M.2 module. Intelligent system acceleration like fast start-up, shortened time of loading files and speedy performance is what the combination of the Intel Optane memory and large HDD delivers. This technology gives the users the capability to maintain large storage capacities while experiencing a faster system performance.
To allow users to take advantage of the many performance benefits of Intel Optane memory, the new UEFI BIOS updates are available to download immediately for compatible ASUS 200-Series motherboards.
If you already installed and configured the new update, the ASUS UEFI BIOS permanently keeps the Intel Optane memory configuration details so that users will have no need to re-input settings when restoring default settings, updating the BIOS, or when they clear the CMOS configuration.
Two easy-to-use tools for fast updates
