The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) is promoting the use of the digital signature service of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to enhance the integrity and authenticity of electronic transactions and documents issued by the government.
Under Memorandum Circular No. 2020-06 issued on August 27, the ARTA directs all government agencies to avail and recognize the use of the Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) service in signing official documents to streamline government’s transactions and documents.
“With the threat of virus transmission still looming, utilizing ICT and PNPKI in online transactions is one way of helping prevent further transmission of COVID-19,” said DICT Secretary Gregorio Honasan II.
The DICT said that at least 97% of the Office of the Solicitor General workforce so far has been reported to be using the PNPKI. The PNPKI can be utilized by various government agencies, private entities, and the public.
